Casper Wells has found his fifth home of the season, and it is in Philadelphia. The well-traveled outfielder was claimed off waivers by the Phillies and will be added to the roster this weekend in Washington.

Wells started this spring in Seattle, was claimed off waivers by Toronto, purchased by Oakland and then sold to the Chicago White Sox, who recently waived him. He has appeared in 41 major-league games this season with a .155 batting average and .380 OPS.

He is a career .236 hitter in four seasons.

The 28-year-old righthanded hitter provides some outfield depth, specifically in center. His addition could signal the removal of Michael Martinez from the roster.

"Casper is someone that we've had our eye on since spring training," Ruben Amaro Jr. said in a statement. "He's a versatile outfielder who adds depth to our club and can be a power threat off the bench."
