No date for Cole Hamels' next bullpen session

The Phillies could not say when Cole Hamels will throw his next bullpen.

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Cole Hamels said he felt fine Wednesday after his bullpen session but admitted the next day was just as important. McClure said Hamels reported no problems Thursday, but the pitching coach could not say when Hamels will throw his next bullpen session.

McClure predicted Wednesday that Hamels could throw Friday or Saturday.

The Phillies have been secretive about their spring pitching plans since the beginning of the month. That is when Hamels missed a planned bullpen session, and his absence prompted questions from reporters. A schedule is no longer posted in the Phillies clubhouse.

Hamels is not expected to pitch in the majors until May because of biceps tendinitis and a fatigued arm that resulted.
