Nate McLouth made an amazing catch during Thursday night’s Orioles/ Blue Jays game, diving into the stands at the Rogers Centre to catch a foul ball hit by Toronto’s Colby Rasmus.

McLouth was able to secure the catch while spilling over the wall into the crowd along the third base line.

The catch was quite impressive and served as the Blue Jays first out in the bottom of the Sixth inning. McLouth didn’t have much time to reflect on the grab however, before being distracted by a flying drink, hurled in his direction by a bitter Blue Jays fan.

When he returned to the field of play, McLouth was about to throw the ball back to the infield when a drink splashed onto the field directly behind him. While the drink didn’t look like it made much contact with McLouth, he was understandably upset about the incident, staring into the crowd presumably searching out the culprit.

“No class whatsoever,” Orioles broadcaster Jim Palmer stated.

Credit McLouth with keeping calm after the occurrence. After all, he could have gone all Ron Artest on the fan and made an ugly incident even worse. Luckily, it did not develop into the baseball version of “Malice in the Palace.”
