Michael Young softening stance on trade

With less than two hours until the trade deadline, Michael Young is reportedly softening his stance on not accepting a trade to anywhere but Texas.

Numerous sources have confirmed Young would approve a deal to either Boston or New York. Both teams are searching for infield help. The Yankees are a prime match; they are in need of a third baseman.

The Phillies are likely to trade Young, 36, by 4 p.m. The return for the veteran infielder will not be significant. The move is designed to save a small chunk of money (approximately $2 million) and free playing time for prospect Cody Asche.

Young is a free agent at season's end and does not fit into the team's long-term plans.
