Maikel Franco's blast breaks Freddy Galvis' windshield

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Freddy Galvis had to take a break from batting practice on Tuesday morning and inspect his car. The windshield of his Dodge Charger was cracked thanks to a Maikel Franco batting-practice home run that left Bright House Field.

The ball rocketed over the Tiki Bar in left field, landing in the lower, passenger-side corner of the windshield. Galvis had to park in a different spot in the morning because Cesar Hernandez had taken his usual space. Galvis was asked if it was a bad idea to park so close to the stadium.

"Yeah," he said. "Especially with Franco here."

Galvis said he hoped the car - which is not a rental - could be fixed during Tuesday's Grapefruit League opener against Toronto.
