Jesse Biddle was awarded the International League's pitcher of the week award on Monday, three days after his best start of the season.

The lefthander pitched seven shutot innings on Friday night for triple-A Lehigh Valley. Biddle struck out seven and walked one. He threw 61 of his 100 pitches for strikes. It was much improved from his triple A debut, when Biddle lasted just 2.1 innings.

Biddle, who was drafted in 2010's first round, is 8-2 this season with a 4.50 ERA in 17 starts between double-A Reading and Lehigh Valley. The Mt. Airy-native has 65 strikeouts and 41 walks in 90 innings.
