Although no official Opening Day roster has been set, Freddy Galvis has a job. His spot was all but guaranteed when veteran infielder Yuniesky Betancourt was released on Sunday.

Galvis might need to invest in a new glove before Monday's opener though.

For the second time in four days, Galvis is playing the outfield. After playing in right for a few innings on Saturday, Galvis is starting in left field on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

"I feel good so far, I've been practicing for two or three days, it's not that much different," Galvis said. "I always go out there during BP when I'm not playing. I'll go out to the outfield. ... In Winter Ball, I went with (Ender) Inciarte, I went lefty, went with the Inciarate glove and caught fly balls and stuff, to make me ready for the game."

But Freddy The Glove isn't going to take his ambidextrous play into a game: he will be wearing a glove on his left hand. He borrowed a glove from minor league outfielder Carlos Tocci.

Since Galvis will be on the major league roster, manager Charlie Manuel will look for a way to keep the developing hitter in the mix to get regular at-bats. Since Manuel rarely sits Jimmy Rollins or Chase Utley when they're healthy, left field is an option since the team will likely incorporate a platoon there to start the season anyway, with John Mayberry Jr. and Laynce Nix.

Galvis, a natural shortstop who handled second base with ease despite never playing it last year, was asked if he could also be the emergency catcher.

Have you ever played catcher, Freddy?

"In Playstation," he said with a laugh.

Galvis is hitting .288 with 11 extra-base hits in 25 games this spring.

Here's today's batting order:

1. Ben Revere, CF
2. Jimmy Rollins, SS
3. Chase Utley, 2B
4. Ryan Howard, 1B
5. Domonic Brown, RF
6. Kevin Frandsen, 3B
7. Pete Orr, DH
8. Freddy Galvis, LF
9. Humberto Quintero, C

Raul Valdes is starting on the mound, with Jonathan Papelbon, Antonio Bastardo, Mike Stutes and Jeremy Horst also scheduled to pitch.
