Darin Ruf said he should be in the lineup on Thursday. And in left field.
But it was somewhat curious that the 26-year-old was out of the lineup for the second straight day on Wednesday. He made a pinch-hitting appearance in the seventh inning.
The reason he didn't start for the second straight day? Just some minor soreness in his throwing arm.
"I'm all right," he said after the Phils 12-5 loss to the Minnesota Twins. "It was a little bit after the first couple long tosses. Then we did some cuts, relays to the infield on back-to-back days and my arm just wasn’t used to that yet. It was a little sore in the biceps area, but it’s normal, it was fine today and I’m in there tomorrow."
