Washington's Oshie said to be fine after leaving practice early

ARLINGTON, VA -- On the eve of the playoff opener against the Flyers, Washington Capitals right wing T.J. Oshie, who was second on the team with 26 goals, left practice on Wednesday for what coach Barry Trotz said were precautionary reasons.

"It is fine, he just got tangled up with one of the guys," Trotz said.

Caps lines

Here were the Capitals lines today at practice: Alex Ovechkin-Nicklas Backstrom-Oshie; Andre Burakovsky-Evgeny Kuznetsov-Justin Williams; Jason Chimera-Mike Richards-Marcus Johansson; Daniel Winnik-Jay Beagle-Tom Wilson.

Working on power play

The Caps worked a lot at practice on the power play, something they need to improve on from last year's postseason. Washington had just a 10.7 percent power playconversion rate last year in the playoffs, when the Caps were eliminated in the second round by the New York Rangers. That was 14th among the 16 playoff teams.

"Our power play was a little dry (in the playoffs)," Trotz said. "It has to be consistent for us and has to be a threat."

This year in the regular season the Caps were fifth in the NHL with a 21.9 percent conversion rate.

The Flyers were 11th at 18.9 percent.
