NHL suspends Orlov for hit on Flyers' Brayden Schenn

The NHL on Monday suspended Washington defenseman Dmitry Orlov for two games for boarding the Flyers' Brayden Schenn on Sunday.

The NHL on Monday suspended Washington defenseman Dmitry Orlov for two games for boarding the Flyers' Brayden Schenn on Sunday.

The incident occurred midway through the third period, and Orlov received a five-minute major. The Flyers scored a goal duirng the power play to cut the deficit to 4-3 and they eventually defeated the Caps, 5-4, in overtime.

The defenseman will not be available when the teams have a rematch Wednesday. Jack Hillen, recalled from Hershey, is expected to fill Orlov's spot.

Orlov, who scored two goals in Sunday's loss, will forfeit a liltle over $7,000 in salary for the two games that are missed; the money goes to the Players' Emergency Assisstance Fund.
