Flyers promote Jordan Weal, shake up lines

The Flyers promoted Jordan Weal from the Phantoms and juggled their lines at practice Friday in Voorhees.

Weal, 24, replaces Travis Konecny, who was placed on injured reserve. Weal was second in the AHL with 47 points. He played center with the Phantoms but was shifted to left wing on Friday.

Here were the new lines:

* Claude Giroux centering Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.

* Sean Couturier centering Weal and Jake Voracek.

* Nick Cousins centering Michael Raffl and Matt Read. (Read was injured while blocking a shot and left practice early.)

* Pierre-Edouard Bellemare centering Chris VandeVelde and Roman Lyubimov.

The Flyers have lost three straight, scoring only one goal in that span.
