Flyers free agent Sam Gagner signs with Columbus Blue Jackets

Sam Gagner won't be returning to the Flyers this fall. The 26-year-old unrestricted free agent center has signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

According to the Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline (who first reported the potential move over the weekend), Gagner agreed to a one-year contract worth $650,000.

Gagner played 53 games for the Flyers last season, recording eight goals, eight assists and 25 penalty minutes. He also was sent down to the Phantoms for a few games, marking the first time since he reached the NHL in 2007 that he played in the minors.
