Flyers' Streit helps Swiss win Olympic opener

Defenseman Mark Streit, who has 10 points in his last 14 games with the Flyers, set up the game's lone goal in the final seconds of regulation as Switzerland defeated Latvia, 1-0, on Wednesday.

Streit played a game-high 22:58 and fed Simon Moser for the game-winner with 7.9 seconds remaining. Moser is a Nashville Predators prospect.

In 16 career Olympic games, Streit has nine points.

Flyers winger Jake Voracek (four shots) and the Czech Republic dropped a 4-2 decision to Sweden on Wednesday.

Former Flyer Jaromir Jagr had a goal for the Czechs, giving him 21 points in 24 career Olympic games.

Austria's Michael Raffl had a pair of assists, but his Austria team fell to Finland, 8-4, on Thursday morning. Kimmo Timonen had an assist for the winners.

Slovakia (Andrej Meszaros) meets Team USA at 7:30 a.m.Thursday, and Canada and Norway square off at noon.
