Flyers' Michael Raffl sidelined for 10-14 days

Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced that winger Michael Raffl has an "upper body injury" and is likely out for 10 to 14 days.

Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced Wednesday that left winger Michael Raffl has an "upper body injury" and is likely out for 10 to 14 days.

Raffl was injured Tuesday night when he was checked into the boards during a 7-4 loss to the Blackhawks in Chicago.

Raffl's spot on the Flyers' top line will be taken by Brayden Schenn, the team's second-leading scorer with 26 goals last season.

Schenn was suspended from the first three games of this season because of a hit on Washington's T.J. Oshie in last season's playoffs. He is ready to join the lineup Thursday when the Flyers (1-1-1) host Anaheim (0-3-1) in their home opener.
