Five things to know today about the Flyers as they prepare for Sabres

Five things to know today about the Flyers (30-26-8), who continue their critical road trip in Buffalo (27-27-12) on Tuesday:

  1. Defenseman Radko Gudas has a total of 29 hits over the last four games.

  2. Jordan Weal (seven games) and Valtteri Filppula (two games) are both "even" and are the only Flyers who do not have negative plus-minus ratings.

  3. Thanks to the Islanders' 5-2 loss in Calgary on Sunday, the Flyers remained three points behind the Isles for the Eastern Conference's final wild-card spot. Both have 18 games left. So far, the Islanders are 3-2-1 on a ridiculous NINE-GAME road trip.

  4. The Flyers have split a pair of games this season with upstart Buffalo, and have not scored a five-on-five goal in those contests. They have been outscored by the Sabres at even-strength, 3-0. The Flyers are two points ahead of the Sabres and have two games in hand.

  5. Buffalo, which blew a 3-0 lead and dropped a 4-3 decision in Pittsburgh on Sunday, has been getting balanced scoring. The Sabres have five players between 39 and 44 points, led by Ryan O'Reilly.  The Flyers have four players between 42 and 52 points, with Jake Voracek leading the way.
