Five things to know today about the Flyers as they face Canucks

Five things to know about the Flyers (27-24-7) today as they face Vancouver (26-27-6 ) on Sunday night and try to salvage a win in the final game of their sad-sack road trip:

  1. The Flyers are trying to avoid getting swept on their Western Canada trip for the third straight season. They are 0-6-2 in those road games.

  2. Flyers defenseman Andrew MacDonald is expected to be scratched for the first time since Nov. 19. Michael Del Zotto, used in the Flyers' seven-man defensive rotation Thursday in Edmonton, will get full-time duty for the first time since Jan. 21.

  3. Defenseman Luca Sbisa, the Flyers No. 1 selection in the 2008 draft, leads the Canucks with a plus-7 rating.

  4. The Flyers, who have lost five of their last six and are 2-10-2 in their last 14 road games, now have to climb over four teams to get into the second wild-card spot.  Boston holds the spot with 64 points, three more than the Flyers.

  5. The Flyers defeated the Canucks, 5-4, on Jan. 12 as Travis Konecny and Brayden Schenn scored power-play goals, Sean Couturier had two points, and Claude Giroux deposited the winner in the shootout.
