Five things to know today about the Flyers (34-31-8) as they get ready to play in Columbus (47-19-7) on Saturday afternoon:

  1. The Flyers' impressive 3-1 win Thursday in Minnesota was their best all-around road game since a 2-0 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden two months ago.

  2. Matt Read's goal Thursday was his first in nine career games against Minnesota. In college, he played at Bemidji (Minn.) State.

  3. The Flyers swept the season series against the Wild for the second straight season and have won the last five games between the teams.

  4. Center Sean Couturier, in his best groove of the season, has three goals and seven assists over his last 10 games. He had a goal and won 12 of 15 faceoffs (80 percent) Thursday.

  5. Wayne Simmonds' assist on Jake Voracek's empty-net goal Thursday was his 300th point as a Flyer. On Saturday, Simmonds and his teammates will face a Columbus team that has a 26-10-1 home record.
