Briere anxious for return

The former Flyer returns to the Wells Fargo Center with the Motnreal Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens center Danny Briere admits that the emotions will be flowing when he returns to the Wells Fargo Center for his first game as a former Flyers.

Briere was a popular interview following this morning's skate at the Wells Fargo Center. This is Briere's first time back since the Flyers bought out the final two years of his contract after six seasons with the team.

"Obviously it is good to come back and see everyone," Briere said. "After facing my teammates once in Montreal, it is going to be a little easier."

Briere faced the Flyers on Oct. 5 in Montreal, a game the Canadiens won, 4-1.

"The first game is always the toughest and I am happy it was in Motnreal, rather than here," Briere said.

Now it is here and Briere is hoping not to get swept up in the emotion.

"I am trying not to think too much about it," he said. "I will try to soak it all in when it comes."

Briere, who has five goals and five assists in 22 games, also had a heartfelt message for the fans.

"All I can say is thank you for all the good memories," he said. "It was great ride."
