Week-by-week look at the Eagles' 2014 schedule

A week-by-week look at the Eagles' 2014 schedule:

Sun. Sept. 7, 1 p.m.
Jaguars at Eagles
TV: CBS3

The Jaguars are building from the ground up and have made progress, and the Eagles should be wary. But Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley, who nearly took a job with the Eagles, is still without a proven quarterback.

Prediction: Win

Mon. Sept. 15, 8:30 p.m.
Eagles at Colts
TV: ESPN

Drafted two rounds ahead of Foles, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck faced criticism after his seven postseason interceptions in January. He still hasn't scraped the surface on his potential and has more weapons this year.

Prediction: Loss

Sun. Sept. 21, 1 p.m.
Redskins at Eagles
TV: FOX29

Both matchups between these divisional rivals will have extra juice after DeSean Jackson signed with the Redskins. The speedy wide receiver will have incentive to burn his former team, but the Eagles know his tendencies as well as anyone.

Prediction: Loss

Sun. Sept. 28, 4:25 p.m.
Eagles at 49ers
TV: FOX29

Kelly has proven that he can win without a multi-threat quarterback like San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick, but it'll be good sport to compare him to Foles in this showdown at the 49ers' new stadium in Santa Clara.

Prediction: Loss

Sun. Oct. 5, 1 p.m.
Rams at Eagles
TV: FOX29

The youthful Rams could be on the verge of something big. Much will depend on the return and evolution of quarterback Sam Bradford. St. Louis lost six of its nine games on the road last season.

Prediction: Win

Sunday,  Oct. 12, 8:30 p.m.
N.Y. Giants at Eagles
TV: NBC10

Tom Coughlin has never had back-to-back losing seasons in New York, but the 67-year-old coach fielded his worst offense last season. Eli Manning's career-worst 27 interceptions were only half the story.

Prediction: Win

Sun. Oct. 19
BYE

Sun. Oct. 26, 4:05 p.m.
Eagles at Cardinals
TV: FOX29

If they played in any other division the Cardinals would have likely made the postseason a year ago. The Eagles held on and outlasted Arizona in 2013, but this time they'll be traveling to Sun Devil Stadium – site of Super Bowl XLIX.

Prediction: Loss

Sun. Nov. 2, 1 p.m.
Eagles at Texans
TV: FOX29

Known for his up-tempo, freewheeling offense, new Texans coach Bill O'Brien has often been compared to Kelly. The Eagles have eight former Texans on their roster, including linebackers DeMeco Ryans and Connor Barwin.

Prediction: Win

Mon. Nov. 10, 8:30 p.m.
Panthers at Eagles
TV: ESPN

There were some that thought the Eagles would have beat Carolina in the second round of the playoffs last season had they gotten past the Saints. This meeting also marks the return of wide receiver Jason Avant.

Prediction: Win

Sun. Nov. 16, 1 p.m.
Eagles at Packers
TV: FOX29

The Birds return to Lambeau Field after topping the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers a year ago. The Green Bay quarterback could feast on a defense that still has many of the same pieces from last season's work-in-progress group.

Prediction: Loss

Sun. Nov. 23, 1 p.m.
Titans at Eagles
TV: CBS3

The Eagles host another coach they coulda-, no-one-now-cares-they-woulda had in Ken Whisenhunt. The former Cardinals coach has his work cut out for him in Tennessee and will in this game.

Prediction: Win

Thu. Nov. 27, 4:30 p.m.
Eagles at Cowboys
TV: FOX29

The last time the Eagles were in Dallas cornerback Brandon Boykin's late fourth quarter interception sealed the game and the NFC East title. That game exemplified why Ryans will likely play less on passing downs in 2014.

Prediction: Win

Sun. Dec. 7, 4:25 p.m.
Seahawks at Eagles
TV: FOX29

The Eagles host the Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champions, for the first time in seven years. Pete Carroll's athletic defense, especially its Earl Thomas-led secondary, should give Chip Kelly's offense its toughest test.

Prediction: Loss

Sun. Dec. 14, 8:30 p.m.
Cowboys at Eagles
TV: NBC10

The low point of Nick Foles' 2013 season, Dallas should expect to see a more confident Eagles quarterback upon its return to Philly. The Cowboys defense has been decimated by injuries and free agency in recent years.

Prediction: Win

Sat. Dec. 20, TBD
Eagles at Redskins
TV: CBS3 or NFL Network

The Eagles are banking on the return of Jeremy Maclin to partially offset the loss of Jackson. It'll be only one game, but many will draw comparisons between the two. For the Redskins, was 2013 a blip for them and quarterback Robert Griffin III or not?

Prediction: Win

Sun. Dec. 28, 1 p.m.
Eagles at N.Y. Giants
TV: FOX29

Two of LeSean McCoy's least productive games last season came against the Giants, who were able to snuff out the Eagles' inside zone read. The addition of Darren Sproles in the backfield should aid the all pro running back.

Prediction: Loss
