Michael Vick signed a one-year deal with the Eagles back in February. After winning the starting quarterback job in training camp, Vick was sidelined by an injury and Nick Foles took over.

In 11 games this season, Foles has thrown for 2,398 yards, 23 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He has also ran for three more scores.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly named Foles the starter for the rest of the season back in November, which put to rest any talk of a quarterback controversy. It seemed Vick's days in Philadelphia were numbered.

However, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Vick is open to returning to the Eagles in a backup role because of his love for the city and his relationship with Foles.

Rapoport believes Vick, who has not played a full season since 2006, could be viewed as a stop-gap starter in 2014 for teams looking to ease in a rookie after two or three games.

The 33-year-old loves playing for Kelly and his unselfish attitude has reportedly scored him points inside the Eagles organization. If it will lead to another contract offer here remains to be seen.

"He's been an amazing team player," Eagles tight end Brent Celek said of Vick to NFL Media columnist Michael Silver. "We all have a ton of respect for the way Mike has handled [his role on the bench]."

Vick said in November that the last thing he wanted to be is a "distraction to the team." If he decides to return as a backup, he would be a valuable asset to the Eagles.
