Schefter: Watch for Eagles and Patriots to be in on Darrelle Revis

As of roughly 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning of the first day of free agency, CB Darrelle Revis is still a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. However, the Bucs are expected to release Revis if they cannot get trade value in return. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, if Revis does indeed land on the free agent market, the Eagles and Patriots will be the two teams to watch.

Two teams to watch on CB Darrelle Revis once Tampa releases him: Philadelphia and New England (Jets fans shudder).

The immediate reaction will be to remember the failed signing of Nnamdi Asomugha 3 years ago in 2011. Revis was born July 14, 1985, while Asomugha was born July 6, 1981. In other words, Revis would be 1 year younger than Asomugha during the offseason the Eagles acquired him, if they were to pull off a major coup.

Revis is still an outstanding CB, and a difference maker. It is rare that a player of his caliber becomes available on the free agent market, so if indeed he shook free of the Bucs, the Eagles would be wise to be aggressive.
