Eagles release three players, opening spots for undrafted rookies

Andrew Bonnet, Terrell Watson and Josh LeRibeus were turned loose.

The Eagles waived fullback Andrew Bonnet and running back Terrell Watson on Thursday, and they also cut offensive lineman Josh LeRibeus.

The three moves bring the Eagles' roster to 80 players, clearing more space to sign undrafted free agents.

Watson joined the Eagles late last season and was active for Week 17, when he rushed nine times for 28 yards and one touchdown. The Eagles drafted Donnel Pumphrey last week and will add to the position in the undrafted market with Wisconsin running back Corey Clement, a Glassboro native.

Bonnet is Carson Wentz's former teammate at North Dakota State and spent time on the practice squad last season. He was the only fullback on the Eagles' roster. They're not expected to carry a player at that position this season.

LeRibeus signed a futures contract with the Eagles after the season and could have added experience to the offensive line. The 27-year-old started 11 games in 2014 and 2015 for the Washington Redskins. But the Eagles addressed the offensive line during free agency and didn't have a role for LeRibeus.

Watson and Bonnet will go on waivers before hitting free agency. LeRibeus, a vested veteran, becomes a free agent.
