Eagles sign seven draft picks to contracts; DE Derek Barnett only unsigned pick

The players were given four-year deals on the eve of the first rookie camp.

The Eagles signed seven of their eight draft picks to four-year contracts on Thursday: cornerback Sidney Jones, cornerback Rasul Douglas, wide receiver Mack Hollins, running back Donnel Pumphrey, wide receiver Shelton Gibson, linebacker Nate Gerry, and defensive tackle Elijah Qualls.

That means every draft pick except top selection Derek Barnett is under contract on the eve of the Eagles' first rookie-camp practice. The Eagles will hold their rookie minicamp this weekend. All the draft picks except for Jones will participate. Jones, the team's second-round pick, is in Philadelphia and will meet with the medical staff, but he is still recovering from a torn Achilles tendon that will sideline him for part or all of the 2017 season.

Because draft picks have slotted contracts, it's easier to reach deals. First-round picks usually take the longest because of potential offset language in the contracts.
