Matt Tobin returns to practice, still not with the starting offensive line

Right guard Matt Tobin returned to practice Thursday after missing two days with a concussion. However, Tobin did not line up with the first-team offense during the portion of practice open to reporters. Andrew Gardner remained with the starters. Kelly would not say who would start on Sunday.

"It's not as big to us as it is to you guys," Kelly said of who is practicing with the starters.

Kelly does not believe in "trap games." The Eagles play the 2-8 Titans on Sunday before a Thanksgiving showdown with the Dallas Cowboys, but he insists the Eagles will not look past this weekend.

"I think everybody knows in this league that anybody can beat anybody on any given day," Kelly said. "There's a million different examples of it. It doesn't help anybody if you're looking for one team in the next game. The great thing about our league, so our focus and attention is on the one game ahead this week."

The coaching staff will meet Sunday night to have a game plan to present to the players on Monday.

Marcus Smith is still slow developing on defense, but that doesn't mean he can't play on special teams. Smith has athleticism that would seem to help in that area. However, Kelly said he's blocked by better players in that area.

"He's a candidate to get in there," Kelly said. "He hasn't beaten out the guys who play his position. ...We have a couple guys who have that body type: Bryan Braman, Trey Burton, and James Casey, who've done an outstanding job, and they're three of our better special teams player, and they're three guys you got to unseat. He's  not a wing, he's not a personal protector, he's not a gunner, he's not a long snapper. So all the sudden, when you look at the position that body type plays for us on special teams, there's only a select amount of guys who are in there, and we happen to have three of the better ones in the league right now."
