LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin return to practice

LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin both returned to practice during the portion of practice open to reporters.

McCoy missed Sunday's practice without explanation.  Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur did not provide details for McCoy's absence, either.

"Nothing serious to my knowledge," Shurmur said. "Just like, every once in a while, guys miss practice. He was here."

Maclin (hamstring) was in pads after missing Sunday and last week's game. It was potentially the first time that Maclin, Riley Cooper, and Jordan Matthews took snaps together, back Brad Smith was out.

Chris Polk (hamstring) and Jake Knott (hamstring) were also sidelined.

**Wide receiver Josh Huff was not on the practice field, and coach Chip Kelly said on Sunday that Huff has a sling. Even though X-rays were negative, it does not sound like Huff will return soon.

"He's going to miss some reps, but part of being a pro is dealing with soreness, injury," Shurmur said. "This will help his development getting back from this."

**Defensive coordinator Bill Davis said the Eagles did not scheme for third downs last week, just as they did not for the first preseason game. They rushed four men to get a better evaluation of pass rush and coverages.

"This is evaluation phase," Davis said. "Sometimes, evaluation looks painful. But sometimes it looks promising. We had both of that the other night."
