Lane Johnson criticizes Eagles fans, quickly apologizes

Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson voiced frustration about the Eagles fans’ booing.

Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson voiced frustration about the Eagles fans' booing. The team was booed often during its 45-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He told Philadelphia Magazine on Tuesday that the Eagles get booed if they're down by a significant number of points or not getting first downs.

"It's not really home-field advantage playing here anymore," Johnson said on the Birds 24/7 blog. "Really, that's the truth. Cats here, they really don't care."

Shortly after the comments were published, Johnson apologized on Twitter.

"My comment about the fans was out of line and I apologize," he wrote. "I'm just frustrated like they are about our performance on the field. The bottom line is that we need to give them a reason to cheer by scoring and winning games."
