We already knew that Mike Vick would not be wearing No. 7 with the New York Jets. Geno Smith was not going to let that happen.

So, Vick moved on to bigger and better things and selected No. 8. But that certainly did not last long.

As of Friday, Vick announced via Twitter he will be wearing No. 1, previously worn by Jets punter Ryan Quigley.

But the story doesn't end there.

Vick offered Quigley $10k for his number and rather than pocketing the offer, Quigley had something else in mind.

Instead, the money will go to a charity in his hometown called Teen Angel of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., which supports homeless teens.

According to editor-in-chief of newyorkjets.com Randy Lange, the money will also benefit the Boys and Girls Club of New York.

Fox Sports also notes that Quigley lived with teammate Chris Pantale’s family last season in order to save money, which contributed to his decision to donate the money:

"$10,000 is a lot of money, especially for a guy like me early in my career," Quigley said. "For a second I thought that, but then I thought that I can do some good with it. You can give back in so many ways and money is one way."
