Eagles waive Philadelphia native Rasheed Bailey

By releasing Rasheed Bailey now, the Eagles open another roster spot for an undrafted rookie.

The Eagles waived wide receiver Rasheed Bailey on Wednesday, clearing the Philadelphia native from the roster before Bailey had a chance to compete for a roster spot during organized team activities, minicamp, and training camp.

By releasing Bailey now, the Eagles open another roster spot for an undrafted rookie. They now have 79 players on the roster. The team is expected to announce their rookie free agent signings before rookie minicamp begins on Friday.

Bailey, 23, became a fan favorite while with the Eagles during the 2015 training camp. He went to Roxborough High School and Delaware Valley University. After his summer with the Eagles, he spent time with the San Diego Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars. He has not played in a regular season game. The Eagle signed him to a futures deal in January.
