Eagles hire Cory Undlin as DBs coach, promote Justin Peelle to TEs coach

The Eagles hired Cory Undlin as defensive backs coach and promoted Justin Peelle to tight ends coach on Monday, reassigning John Lovett and Ted WIlliams to the pro scouting department.

Undlin, 43, comes to the Eagles after serviing the same role with the Denver Broncos during the past two seasons. His secondary had three Pro Bowlers. Undlin has also worked in Jacksonville, Cleveland, and New England.

Peelle had spent the past two seasons as the Eagles' assistant tight ends coach. He also played 10 NFL seasons from 2002-2011.

Williams, 71, has been an Eagles assistant since 1995. He coached running backs through most of his career before moving over to the tight ends when Chip Kelly was hired in 2013.

Lovett, 64, coached the Eagles' defensive backs during the past two seasons. Most of his career has been in the college ranks.

Assistant defensive backs coach Todd Lyght left to join Vanderbilt's staff, so the Eagles must replace his position and Peelle's position.
