Eagles agree to terms with CB Nolan Carroll

The Eagles have agreed to terms with former Miami Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll to a two-year deal worth $5.2 million, according to a league source. The deal also has incentives that could increase the value.

Carroll, 27, was listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 poounds. He is a four-year veteran who fits the prototype the Eagles look for in cornerbacks. He has started 26 games in his career, including 12 last season. Carroll had three interceptions, two sacks, and 11 passes defended in 2013. He also has special teams experience. A fifth-round pick out of Maryland in 2010, Carroll is known as a good tackler, which the Eagles have tried to emphasize at cornerback.

The Eagles had the worst pass defense in the NFL last season. Carroll is the third defensive back the team has added in three days. He's the first cornerback to sign with the Eagles, and he joins Cary Williams, Bradley Fletcher, and Brandon Boykin among the Eagles' top cornerbacks.
