Eagles WR Jordan Matthews out vs. Bengals; Nelson Agholor in the lineup

CINCINNATI -- Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews is out for Sunday's game against the Bengals, and Nelson Agholor returns to the lineup after last week's benching.

Matthews, who has a sprained ankle, was questionable for the game. There was optimism last week that he would be able to play, and he returned to the practice field Thursday. Matthews was sore after that session and missed practice Friday, a bad sign about the progress of his recovery. The team declared him inactive on Sunday.

Agholor missed last week because of a crisis of confidence that led to coach Doug Pederson wanting Agholor to clear his mind. Matthews' injury gave Pederson no choice but to play Agholor. He is one of four wide receivers, with Dorial Green-Beckham, Bryce Treggs, and Paul Turner.

Mathews did not practice this week and is out for the second consecutive game. The Eagles will use Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles as their top running backs.

Vaitai is also out for the second consecutive week. Allen Barbre will start at right tackle, with Stefen Wisniewski at left guard.
