Eagles QBs, WRs and TEs will throw in San Diego before camp

The Eagles' training camp is being held at NovaCare again this year, but the team's quarterbacks, wideouts and tight ends will get a head start with a week of work without coaches in San Diego.

"When I was in St. Louis, we used to get together with the wide receivers and the tight ends," starting QB Sam Bradford said Wednesday. "As good as it is to get on the field and throw routes and work out together, I think it's even better anytime you can spend time together away from the facility."

Rookie Carson Wentz said the aim is "just to develop a rapport -- develop timing not only on the field, doing some route things, but be around the guys some more, hang out, spend time with them, get to know 'em on another level. So I'm looking forward to that."

Thursday marks the Eagles' last full-team sessions before training camp in late July.

In other Eagles news Wednesday, head coach Doug Pederson denied that Darren Sproles is getting team minicamp reps that Fletcher Cox isn't getting because Cox's contract extension is unresolved. Sproles and Cox both missed OTAs. Pederson indicated that Sproles, the running back who turns 33 on June 20, is "a little different animal," presumably in terms of his attention to conditioning.

Cox said he expects to attend training camp. Sproles said his absence this spring had to do with a family matter that has been resolved.

"I'm in shape. I feel good," Sproles said. He confirmed that this offense looks much more conducive to utilizing his receiving skills than Chip Kelly's setup.

"They say they're going to have me everywhere. So I'm ready for that," Sproles said.
