Domo's Eagles-Cowboys report card

RUSHING OFFENSE: The Eagles got a good look at rookie Byron Marshall, whose run-catch versatility mirrors Darren Sproles'. He finished with 42 yards on 10 carries. Carson Wentz had a 13-yard, third-and-11 scramble late in the first half that kept alive a scoring drive.

GRADE: B

PASSING OFFENSE: Carson Wentz's 93.7 passer rating was his highest in 12 games. The Eagles used a ton of multiple-TE sets and Wentz leaned heavily on Zach Ertz and Trey Burton, who caught a combined 18 passes, including a season-high 13 for 139 yards and 2 TDs by Ertz.

GRADE: A-minus

RUN DEFENSE: NFL rushing leader Ezekiel Elliott spent the day on the bench in a hoodie, which certainly helped the Eagles. But they held his three replacements – Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris and Lance Dunbar -- to 3.3 yards per carry.

GRADE: B-plus

PASS DEFENSE: Nolan Carroll had a couple of ugly back-to-back plays in the second quarter with Tony Romo at QB, first getting flagged for a 29-yard pass interference, then getting beaten for a TD by Terrance Williams on a hitch-and-go. Things went much more smoothly after the Cowboys put ex-Eagle Mark Sanchez in. MLB Jordan Hicks had two interceptions.

GRADE: B-minus

SPECIAL TEAMS: Steven Means blocked a fourth-quarter punt that set up the Eagles' game-clinching TD. Donnie Jones had a 44.3 net average on four punts. Eagles coverage teams had another solid performance. The only smudge was a missed Caleb Sturgis 49-yard field goal.

GRADE: A-minus

OVERALL: Dak Prescott played only two series, and Elliott and LB Sean Lee didn't play at all. But the Eagles played this meaningless game as if it mattered. Carson Wentz went into the offseason on a high note.

GRADE: B-plus
