Eagles inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans is active for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
The veteran inside linebacker was questionable after leaving last week's game with a groin injury. Ryans has not missed a game since arriving in Philadelphia in 2012, and that streak remains alive. He makes the defensive calls for the Eagles, and his value is even more important with Mychal Kendricks out of the lineup.
The Eagles' inactives are Kendricks, quarterback Matt Barkley, wide receiver Brad Smith, running back Chris Polk, center Jason Kelce, offensive lineman Dennis Kelly, and defensive lineman Taylor Hart.
The only healthy scratches are Barkley, Kelly, and Hart. Smith has a abdominal injury, Polk has a hamstring injury, Kelce has a sports hernia, and Kendricks ahs a calf injury.
With Polk out, the Eagles have only two healthy running backs for the second time this season. Fourth-string tight end Trey Burton will be the third running back. James Casey is the emergency quarterback with Smith out, and Josh Huff will have an increased role on special teams.
