Bryce Brown on trade to Bills

Bryce Brown spoke to the Buffalo media today after being traded by the Eagles. Here's the transcript:

Q: What are your thoughts on this? Were you surprised?

A: Yeah I was definitely surprised by it, but I think it's a great opportunity for me to come in and be able to contribute in any way that I can. I'm excited about the journey and I can't wait to get started.

Q: The Bills were second in rushing last year and they run the football a ton. How does that sound to you?

A: It sounds good. Obviously my position being running back, I obviously want to run the ball. I understand there are other parts of the game as well that you have to do and be good at. That's definitely a plus to know that they can do it and hopefully I can contribute in some way.

Q: The Bills do like to run an up-tempo offense which you're probably familiar with because of playing for Coach Kelly. Do you feel that can aid in your transition here?

A: Maybe. I don't know. I haven't really gotten the chance to watch Buffalo too much or know what they're about. I'm excited to go in and learn and I'll be able to adjust to whatever offense they run. It's all unfamiliar right now.

Q: You bounced around a little bit in college and then you didn't get an invite to the combine. Do you see this new chapter as a place where you can finally get a firm foothold and really have your career take off?

A: I hope so. I think it's a great place to start. I think it's a great opportunity. With C.J. (Spiller) there, he actually hosted me on my official visit to Clemson and he's been a running back I've looked up to for a long time in college and in the time he's spent in the pros. So I look forward to learning as much as I can from him and seeing what he does well and hopefully applying it to my game and all the other guys we have there too.

Q: How would you best describe your running style?

A: I run hard and I run with a lot of effort. I think that speed is kind of my thing. I really rely heavily on my speed and I'm very confident in my speed as well. That's something I would say.

Q: I saw a pro day time of 4.38 in the 40 yard dash. Is that on the mark?

A: I think so. Like I said, I'm very, very confident in my speed and that is something I rely on often.
