Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin wants a one-year deal while the team would like him to sign a “legitimate multi-year contract,” according to Pro Football Talk.
The report says Maclin, who is set to become a free agent on March 11, wants a one-year deal to prove that he has fully recovered from the torn ACL that sidelined him during his contract year.
The Eagles, on the other hand, want a longer contract, one that would not come with a significant bonus for 2015 if Maclin produces next season.
The Birds have already locked up wide receiver Riley Cooper with a five-year contract that could be worth as much as $25 million. Center Jason Kelce and offensive tackle Jason Peters also received new deals in the past couple days.
Wide receiver Jason Avant will likely be wearing another jersey next season.
The Eagles have 12 more days to figure out a deal with Maclin before he hits free agency.
