Temple coach Matt Rhule indicated following Saturday’s scrimmage that Florida transfer Colin Thompson (tight end) probably  won’t be ready to play perhaps for another six weeks.

Thompson has been cleared to play by the NCAA. However, he is not physically ready to play yet (foot). Rhule does not want to rush him and it appears that he won’t be ready by the Aug 28 opener at Vanderbilt.

“I think maybe the week of the first game he can start practicing but I don’t think he’ll be ready until about maybe Connecticut (Sept. 27) or Tulsa (Oct. 11),” Rhule said. “He’s running and now starting to put some pressure on it (foot) but it could be a while. Every day has been positive; each day gets a little bit better.”

Thompson (Archbishop Ryan) appeared in just three games in two seasons at Florida due to foot injuries.
