Temple's Brown signs with CFL team

Former Temple standout Matt Brown signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League Monday night.

Former Temple standout Matt Brown signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League Monday night.

Financial terms of the deal are not known.

While at Temple, Brown, 24, gained 2,647 yards and scored 23 touchdowns on 466 carries.  He returned 83 kickoffs for 2,068 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also returned 45 punts for 403 yards.

Brown, slightly built at 5-5 and 165 pounds, was named the 2012 Big East Special Teams Player of the year.  He was also selected to the 2012 All-Big East First Team.
