A record 26 national television games highlight Temple’s 2013-14 men’s basketball schedule, and all but four contests – LIU, Penn, Texas Southern and Towson – will be seen nationally. More games may be added at a later date.

“The American Athletic Conference is one of the top basketball conferences in the country and this is evident by the amount of television exposure the league has generated in its first season,” said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. “Clearly this is one of the most challenging schedules in the history of Temple Basketball, and arguably the toughest home slate for an Owl team. Hopefully our young men will be up for the challenge.”

The Owls will appear on ESPN entities 22 times during the season. The Owls will make one guaranteed appearance on ESPN on Jan. 18 when Temple faces LaSalle at The Palestra.

Three other games, Louisville (Feb. 13 & 27) and UConn (Feb. 20), are designated as “flex” games, that will either appear on ESPN or ESPN2 with a decision being made on the outlet closer to the contest. Besides the “flex” games, the Cherry and White will appear on ESPN at least twice with games against Texas at the Wells Fargo Center and Memphis, and possibly a third in the final of the Charleston Classic
