Temple senior guard Dalton Pepper was named the Big 5 Men’s Player of the Week.

Pepper scored a team and career-high 19 points in the Owls’ 78-73 victory over Penn in the season-opener for both schools Saturday at the Palestra.

After the Owls had blown a 65-50 lead, Pepper assisted on a game-tying basket and scored four points down the stretch, including the go-ahead basket, to help secure the win. Pepper also pulled down a career-best nine rebounds and handed out three assists while not committing a turnover.
