Paul VI’s Irvin Charles, one of South Jersey’s top wide receivers, orally committed to Penn State on Saturday morning.

The 6-foot-4, 207-pounder will be a senior in the fall. He chose Penn State over offers from Alabama, Boston College, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and others. He had 49 catches last season for 848 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.

Charles joins Glassboro wide receiver Juwan Johnson in Penn State’s 2015 recruiting class. Rivals ranks the two recruits as the top-two wide receivers in New Jersey. Johnson orally committed in March.
