Temple would be a 12 seed in the South region if the NCAA tournament field was picked today, according to ESPN college basketball analyst Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi, known as Joey Brackets, has the Owls facing the region’s other No. 12 seed in a first-round matchup in Dayton. The winner would face No. 5 Marquette in second-round matchup in San Jose, Calif.

The St. Joseph’s graduate, who does Hawks radio broadcasts, has two Big Five teams and a total of five Atlantic Ten teams playing in the NCAA tournament.

He lists La Salle as the No. 11 seed in the South, where it would play No. 6 seed Georgetown in a second-round matchup in Auburn Hills, Mich.  Butler is projected as  Midwest region’s No. 4 seed. Virginia Commonwealth is No. 8 seed in the East, while St. Louis is 12th in the West.
