Temple may have found its replacement for departed deep threat Robby Anderson. Trouble is he won’t be able to suit up until next season.
Hawaii transfer Keith Kirkwood is officially a Temple Owl after transferring from Hawaii. Kirkwood will be a redshirt sophomore after sitting out this year. Kirkwood attended practice on Saturday; Temple coach Matt Rhule announced the transfer to medi in attendance.
As a freshman at Hawaii, the New Jersey native had 12 catches for 250 yards and four touchdowns his 20.8 yards-per-catch average leading the team.
At 6-3, 210 pounds, Kirkwood clearly brings the type of size that Anderson was blessed with. He also looks to have the same type of explosion. In his first game as a freshman, versus USC, Kirkwood had a pair of receptions for 84 yards, the longer of the two going for 60 yards and a touchdown. Kirkwood’s other tds went for 23, 33 and 40 yards.
