NEW YORK - Jaylen Bond will leave both Texas and the Longhorns’ basketball program at the end of the semester, according to a source.
The sophomore forward recently informed coach Rick Barnes of his decision and was granted his release. The Plymouth Whitemarsh High product hasn’t decided on a destination. However, Temple could become an option.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pounder averaged 2.8 points and 3.2 rebounds and just 11 minutes of action this season.
As a high school senior in 2011, Bond backed out of his scholarship to Pittsburgh and flirted with spending the following year at St. Thomas More, a prep school in Connecticut.
