Temple notched perhaps its biggest oral commitment of the summer on Saturday when four-star defensive back Kareem Ali agreed to become an Owl.

Ali, a 5-10, 170-pounder from Timber Creek (N.J.), who committed to Maryland earlier this summer, changed his mind and has committed to Temple. Ali previously chose Maryland over about 15 other schools, including Louisville, West Virginia and Pittsburgh.

Ali, who will arrive on the campus as a freshman in 2015, is ranked No. 249 nationally by Rivals.com and No. 28 at his position.
