Sixers are reportedly interested in Avery Bradley

The Sixers are not expected to be extremely active in the offseason on the free agency front, but that doesn’t mean they won’t make some moves. The team has around $30 million to spend, and they may have to use some of that to round out their roster.

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, the team reached out to shooting guard Avery Bradley shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning.

In light of the recent release of James Anderson, the Sixers desperately need a shooting guard, so their interest in Bradley isn’t too surprising.

Bradley, 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, is entering his fifth season in the league. He has spent his entire pro career so far with the Celtics.

In 2013-14, he had a career-best season, posting averages of 14.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He is a decent three point shooter who connected on 79 triples out of 200 attempts last season.

At 23 years old, Bradley is still young enough to fit in with the franchise’s developing youth movement, and he could fill a big need at the shooting guard spot.

It's worth noting, though, that injury issues have prevented him from playing in a complete 82-game season so far in his career. Still, depending on the price tag, he could be a sensible signing for the Sixers.
