Does Bynum fit? A better question is- does everyone else fit? Jrue fits very well with Bynum. He has a nice three point shot and crafty moves to the hoop which draw defenders. Jrue is more methodical than quick and this is a good style to mix with a great big man. They will work off of each other very well. On the other hand, Turner isn't such a great fit because of his weak perimeter shot. Turner should be on the court whenever Bynum isn't and run the O through Evan (or trade him for another big :) Nick Young fits because of his perimeter shooting and his gunner mentality which will take pressure off Bynum for short stretches. Wright fits because of his perimeter shooting. Thad fits as a scrapper off the bench. Should be a very nice squad (gosh, I forgot about J. Rich. The Sixers are still crazy deep!) Two seasons ago I predicted Sixers-Thunder in the finals (with a Sixer victory). I like my chances.

doug collins has to make sure he 'fits', or that everybody else 'fits'. the 6ers have several new pieces, and the team has to establish a new identity. hopefully that identity translates to success during the regular season, as well as the PLAYOFFS, which are a different animal.

Regarding fits, the pieces of low post interior scorer and the plethora of catch and shoot three point shooters the Sixers now have assembled (Young,Wright,Richardson,Holiday) really can create spacing, which is what DC has strived for since his arrival...To boot, some other offensive sets DC employs with Hawes on the perimeter for pick and pops, or passing to cutters will often be a green light as defenders will sag to double Bynum...An area of development however will be for Jrue Holiday to become a better pick and roll player, which is not his forte...The last key for Bynum is his transition from being a young, talented phenom who excelled as a second or third wheel...to taking the step of taking the mantle of being "the man"...a pro entering his 8th year who has 2 rings and his ready to dominate in a city he can own if he wants it...all the while learning the team defensive schemes, staying healthy, and letting his natural talent engulf the WFC.

Bynum fits because he is the 2nd best center in the whole league where there truly are very few dominant players at that position. You make sure that someone like that gets on your team if you get the chance and build around him. Fortunately for the Sixers, they already have a solid coach and lots of young talent.

coach collins has gathered players that fit what he has envisioned from day1. like i said yesterday this is what he has been waiting for, he was not able to get the glory in chicago, the JORDON years, but he WILL have his parade on broad street, like isaid if not this year the next.

considering our dougie the best coach/manager currently working in philly pro sports, this is his team. he came ever so close last season without a big man, a team that never, never, should've made it to game 7 against the celtics. oughta be an interesting year.

I don't imagine the Sixers will be running a lot of pick and roll with Bynum. Maybe pick and pop with Hawes (and Turner). My best guess is simple dump downs to the post, then spread out. Bynum doesn't need the benfit of a 'roll'. He's that good. Give him the ball, let him operate. Hopefully (and I've been assured of this by a very astute Laker fan) he will be a willing and able passer. The Sixers have a ton of guys who can get 15 a game, so the pressure on Bynum is not immense. He will, however, be the first option every time- especially in the playoffs.

Would like great to see a 76ers vs Lakers final soon. Bynum vs Howard...Kobe comes back to Philly and gets his heart cut out in 6 games. Great drama for the paying public.

Best trade the Sixers have made since acquiring Moses. Bynum has had some growing pains, but imagine having his talent, size, and youth and being thrown into the caldron that is Los Angeles Lakers basketball. He is a beast and the best center in Philly since Moses. At 24 years of age, he is one of the top three pure centers in the NBA - and the best in the Eastern Conference with Howard in the West now. Collins will work the inside-outside game that he never has been able to with this team. He was lacking the center and the outside shooters to do so, and now he has both. Bynum has great moves around the basket and will tie up two defenders often with his size. Young, Wright, and Richardson all shoot the ball well and Richardson will be a key to this team in terms of distributing the ball, as will Holliday. The only question with Bynum will be his knees but something tells me playing in a contract year will take care of that. The Sixers will look entirely different this year, particulalry with a full off-season to practice. Look for them to finish seeded either 3 or 4 in the East this season.

If Doug Collins can get Mr. Bynum to go with the program, the Sixers will have a good playoff run. If Bynum dissipates into tantrums, like he did in LA, good luck.
    escaped to CA.
