Report: Carmelo doesn't want to be a Sixer

Carmelo Anthony wants to be traded from the Denver Nuggets, preferably to an East Coast team, but the Sixers aren't one of his choices, a source told the Denver Post.

A few weeks ago a Western Conference executive told the Daily News that the Denver Nuggets had been in conversation with the Sixers about a possible trade that would send Carmelo Anthony to Philadelphis in exchange for Andre Iguodala and other players.

Today, a source told the Denver Post that Anthony still does want to be traded from the Nuggets, but that the Sixers aren't a team he'd be interested in going to. According to the report, Anthony's preference is to go to an East Coast team, with New York or New Jersey at the top of his list.

Chicago is also a possibility, if a deal for Anthony can be reached

This really doesn't come as a surprise, as the Sixers landing Anthony seemed a longshot from the beginning. The reason for the smoke, however, is that Denver does like Iguodala.

The Sixers took the court this morning for practice at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine about 11:50 after a long film session. They'll play their final two preseason games next week, playing the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cincinnati on Tuesday, then the New York Knicks at the Wells Fargo Center the following night.

LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will lead the Miami Heat into the Wells Fargo Center on October 27th for the Sixers first regular season game.
