Sixers likely to 'pretty much stand pat'
You never know for sure until the trade deadline passes, but asked about the Sixers' situation as the deadline approached tomorrow at 3 p.m., president and general manager Ed Stefanski told the Daily News: ''Nothing's hot. Nothing's hot right now.''
Stefanski maintained his stance of trying to acquire helpful players rather than expiring contracts. As of this afternoon, he had not been able to do that. He vowed to keep trying, although it seemed as if he might have to settle for something less than a major acquisition, perhaps adding an additional support player.
''We're going to pretty much stand pat, from what I understand [from Stefanski]," coach Eddie Jordan said after practice. He also distanced himself from the waves of speculation, saying ''I said from the beginning, I'm coaching the team that's in the locker room.''

“I heard that, too,” Elton Brand said. “You’ve got to tune it out. He wasn’t out there playing defense.”
Of the booing, Andre Iguodala said, “That’s just the nature of our fans. When we’re not playing too well, they’re not happy. When you’re winning games, they’re happy.”

- this team is terrible, not making a trade makes no difference in that. I honestly think with the combo of Ed and Ed we have the best chance of losing the most games and lets be honest which of the best teams in the NBA didn't have a terrible season which led to a high draft pick. Deal with Ed and Ed let them lose us as many games as possible, fire them in the off season, pray for a high draft pick and build this team with what we have... a solid 16/8 brand, solid SMALL FOWARD Andre and Holiday who will be a force... draft a shooting guard (E. - I am still in shock they turned down the McGrady- Iggy & Sam deal. They could have wiped the slate clean on 2 of their 3 biggest current mistakes. They are stuck with Brand for a few more years. - It kills me to see how pathetic this organization is. We need to fire both Eddies. Ed Snyder hasn't won jack in 35 years and is clueless about basketball. Neither our coach, nor our GM have a clue. Make some trades to get some salary cap flexibility, extra picks, and a better shot at a low lottery pick. Then hire a young college coach who preaches defense and can get through to young players (Jay Wright and Jaimie Dixon are at the top of my list - they both seem to get the most out of all of their players - Dixon's players always play tough and rebound and play D - and he takes average talent and makes them better each year). Our player development has been pathetic. A good coach would get the most out of Young, Speights, and others. I grew up on Dr J, Cheeks, Toney, Charles, Moses, .... and it's pathetic.
