Sixers Adding Brezec

POSTED: Tuesday, August 4, 2009, 4:50 PM

The 76ers have reached an agreement in principle to sign veteran center Primoz Brezec, according to multiple sources.

The deal is supposedly for one year at the minimum for a player with seven seasons of service in the NBA.

The 7-1 Brezec, 29, is expected to come to Philadelphia sometime next week. He is currently playing with the Slovenian National Team.

Brezec spent last season in Italy after logging time with the Indiana Pacers, the Charlotte Bobcats, the Detroit Pistons and the Toronto Raptors.

More coming in tomorrow's Daily News.

One of these things is not like the other. Which one? The Cavs got Shaq. The Magic got Carter. The Celtics got Rasheed. The Wizards got Miller and Foye. The Pistons got Villanueva and Gordon. THE SIXERS GOT KOPONO AND BREZEC. Sixers = Disaster waiting to happen

This is it, Primoz clearly moves the sixers to the top of the eastern conference heap. This guy is a stud. No rest for the weary though Eddie, go out and add Rafal Bigus "Mgligus" to the fold and you can pretty much carve the sixers names in the 2010 title trophy.

Seriously. This team almost beat Orlando in the first round. Why do they keep going backward? They weren't that far away with the talent they had. Yes, Boston and Cleveland will be better this year than the 76ers, but the following year I really thought the Sixers could compete and be fun to watch. But the moves they've made are just horrible.

Any chance a players' strike can erase the season?

I'm hauling my change bucket to the Wachovia center immediately to reserve my playoff tix. There is so much talent on this team, especially with the addition of Proximo.
